LFI mixing head
The LFI mixing head can produce lightweight glass fibre-reinforced PUR (structural) parts in just a single operation.
Principle
The LFI process head feeds glass fibre strands from a roving through a chopper and then pours them simultaneously with the PUR components into the open mould.
Technology
The quantity and length of the fibres can be adjusted at the mixing head to suit the particular part being produced. That provides high flexibility as regards the specific parameters for the product. The LFI process can also be very highly automated.

  • The LFI mixing head can produce high-strength, lightweight parts cost effectively.
  • Direct wetting of the fibres ensures optimum adhesion of the polyurethane matrix to the reinforcing material.
  • The fibre quantity or length can be adjusted to requirements and therefore also varied in the part.
