Saarlouis is the main production plant of the Ford-Werke GmbH for the success models Ford Focus, Ford Focus Turnier, Ford Focus ST and Ford Focus RS. In addition, the Ford Kuga is made here. For over 40 years now, Ford has produced cars in the Saarland.

The Problem:

Precise and powerful part demolding with an industrial robot

The Solution:

KraussMaffei delivers a complete production cell. The MX 4000-24500 is equipped with an industrial robot IR 2100-1000 S/K (type KUKA KR 210 L100 K), installed on the fix platen.

The Outcome:

The industrial robot with its payload of 100 kg and maximum working range of 3.900 mm highly meets the requirements of automation of injection molding machines in this size range. The robot positions the parts precisely on a two-belt conveyor; 30 minutes of cooling is therewith possible. Also included in KraussMaffei´s scope of supply is a safety guarding as well as platforms and ladders to access the injection unit and the clamping unit for maintenance purposes. A big focus within all the planning period lies on the safety concept. The avoidance of any risks has highest priority with production units this size.
