The Task:

Production of parts on a TwinForm machine

The Problem:

Simultaneous part demolding from the fixed and moving stack mould halves

The Solution:

Two standard linear robots installed on and above a KraussMaffei KM 2700-12000/12000 MX and communicating as master and slave. Transverse part removal.

The Outcome:

Lower cost of automation by using standard components. An integrated LR 500 linear robot is mounted on the machine's fixed platen. A LR-S 500 standalone robot is mounted on a free-standing shelf above the moving platen. Communication between the two robots is via a master-slave controller, which is simple to program. This flexible solution is equally efficient whether parts must be removed from one or both stacks.
