A 2-platen clamp makes it possible to build extremely compact, space-saving injection moulding machines. The clamp unit is about 30% shorter than the clamp of a conventional 3-platen machine. KraussMaffei supplies a complete range of hydraulic 2-platen injection moulding machines with clamp forces from 30 to 5,400 metric tonnes. The moving platen of our big MX series is a built as a deep box-section plate for minimal deflection, optimal support for the mould and ample daylight between tiebars. Absolute parallelism during opening and closing movements is guaranteed for even the heaviest moulds.
