Live @Fakuma: The Turtle project
Light, shiny and with a sustainable message - this is how the little blue turtle, which is produced on an all-electric PXZ 121-380-180 Multinject in a sandwich process, presents itself at Fakuma. The core consists of mechanically recycled PC/ABS, the high-quality outer layer of chemically recycled ABS. Numerous features of the PXZ 121, such as the new sandwich panel or the new APCplus function, which now also uses individual material parameters, make the multi-component process even more efficient and economical.

From the sea into the tunnel
Old fishing nets and plastic ropes: These are valuable raw materials for the Norwegian company Oldroyd who uses them to manufacture products for tunnel construction on three CX 160-750. They are more durable than steel and at the same time protect the environment. With these advantages, it does not matter if from time to time they give off a faint fishy smell.

Digital solutions for Circular Economy
A circle has no beginning and no end. Circular Economy therefore means using materials that have been produced once again and again, thus saving CO2, raw materials and energy. An exhibit at K 2022 (Hall 15, Booth C15/C24-D24) shows how this works: from insulin pen caps to glass fiber-reinforced frontend carrier. KraussMaffei is the only supplier in the industry to manufacture the entire machine hardware (injection molding - extrusion - injection molding) and innovative digital solutions for the process in-house.

New material made from three recyclates
When it comes to recycling plastics, aspirations and reality often diverge. This is because pure polymer is only available in limited quantities. Therefore, as many sources as possible must be used to achieve the necessary volume of recyclate. With Direct Compounding Injection Molding (DCIM), KraussMaffei is demonstrating at K 2022 how a new material can be compounded from three recyclates of different viscosities.
