In-mold decoration

Decorative and functional plastic surfaces in an efficient combined process

Product information

In-mold decoration (IMD) creates sophisticated and visually appealing surfaces in a combined process: a printed film is fed through the mold as a continuous strip. During back injection, the decorative print is transferred to the component. This creates a scratch-resistant surface with a first-class appearance.

On request, a ColorForm PUR coating can be added to the surface – for a brilliant appearance and lasting protection against scratches, chemicals, and weathering.
  • Enormous design variety thanks to flexible decorative printing
  • High flexibility in production thanks to quick film changes
  • Production of scratch-resistant and media-resistant surfaces
  • Ready-to-install components directly from the combined process
  • High process reliability thanks to proven methods and precise film positioning
  • Option for functionalization, e.g., with IML sensor films
