Single-screw Technology (KE)
Product information
KraussMaffei Extrusions single-screw extruders are characterized by their simple and robust machine design, low maintenance requirements, high torque, and flexible design of the process section. Thanks to their flexible configuration options, the single-screw extruders are used worldwide for a wide variety of process tasks.
Our KE single-screw extruders have proven themselves for effective devolatilization of high-molecular-weight residual monomers from the PE or PS melt. They ensure high product quality and improve performance characteristics.
Performance data
Screw-diameter: 250 mm to 800 mm
Throughput from 10 t/h up to 74 t/h
Torque: up to 1,4 mio Nm
Advantages
- Throughput rates of up to 74 t/h for melt feed (e.g., LDPE; EVA; POE; acrylate copolymers)
- High cooling performance thanks to "wet" liners, pressurized water, and optimized screw profiles
- Highly efficient melt degassing for the removal of residues and monomers from the melt, with or without stripping agents
- Modular extruder design for fast on-site installation, simplified foundation work, and flexible configuration of the process section
- Planning, supply, and installation of complete extruders including auxiliary and downstream equipment (e.g., dryer, pressurized water system, classifier)
- Optimized for products such as LDPE, EVA, POE, and acrylic copolymers
