CellForm technology / Chemical foaming
Simply lighter

Product information
CellForm is the solution for all common physical (mostly MuCell) and chemical (CBA) foaming processes in injection molding.
In chemical foaming, a blowing agent is added to the granulate, which decomposes during melting. The gas produced dissolves in the plastic and forms the cell structure during injection. The foaming process starts due to the pressure drop in the cavity.
In the standard low-pressure process, the cavity is only filled to about 90%. The subsequent expansion ensures complete filling – without any additional pressure.
The high-pressure process is available as an option: Here, the cavity is first filled completely and then a gap is created by briefly opening the mold, which initiates the foaming process.
- Material savings due to lower component weight; additional potential through component optimization or foaming with opening stroke
- Reduced CO₂ footprint thanks to lower material and energy consumption and shorter cycle times
- High dimensional stability for low-warpage and dimensionally stable components
- Shorter cycle times due to reduced holding pressure phase and optimized mold cooling
- Lower clamping force requirement
